I\u2019m not sure if you know, but a few months ago I invested heavily in the phrase \u2018a proverbial game of two halves<\/em>\u2019 so thanks to media coverage of this shitshow<\/u><\/a> I\u2019m actually very rich now.<\/p>

I\u2019m going to use the money to buy a big hammer and knock the memory out of my stupid, optimistic, \u2018this will definitely be fine<\/em>\u2019 head.<\/p>

Eleven years on. Still the most beautiful<\/u><\/a> day. <\/p>

\u201cDemoted not relegated<\/em>\u201d, they cried. They cried it down in the Championship. They cried it on their BBC documentary<\/u><\/a>. They cried it at every subsequent mention of big bad Jon Obika slotting the ball past Bobby Zlamal in the Hearts goal - four years ago this week<\/u><\/a>. <\/p>

Really good fun. A club legend for it.<\/p>

With league duties now on the back burner, thoughts turn to the upcoming international break, and this week saw call ups for Jonah Ayunga (Kenya), Elvis Bwomono (Uganda) and Caolan Boyd-Munce (Northern Ireland).<\/p>

The trio join established internationalists Keanu Baccus (Australia), Alex Gogic (Cyprus) and Conor McMenamin (Northern Ireland) in ensuring St Mirren are better represented than ever at international level.<\/p>

With Saints\u2019 status growing both on and off the pitch, this will become much more of the norm in the coming years, but the pride felt in seeing our club on the global stage is unlikely to get old anytime soon.<\/p>

If Gallagher Lennon lived in a normal world, he\u2019d be allowed to play football unbothered. <\/p>

Rather than a normal world (good) the St Mirren youngster plies his trade in the West of Scotland (bad) and therefore must constantly be reminded by the troglodytes that orbit our game of the baggage they\u2019ve attached to his family.<\/p>

Nobody should have to put up with the week young Lennon has, but in terms of getting it right up them all, scoring in a 6-2 win for your loan club is a pretty good effort.<\/p>
